Multimodal hub

The layout of the multimodal exchange hub anticipates the doubling of passenger traffic and organises the transfer of vehicle access to the multimodal hub via Boulevard Carnot. This means that the balance between local residents and those using the public transport networks is inevitably going to change. However, the footbridge crossing remains convenient for local pedestrians while the programme reveals a preference for a covered footbridge. The usefulness of such a cover would, most importantly, concern users of the exchange hub accessing the south esplanade by car. The challenge is to provide these public transport passengers with a route protected from the rain all the way from their vehicles through to the platforms.
